As part of this, students will have the opportunity to study for and earn their Yavapai county food handlers card. Completing the study workbook, review questions, and test helps them understand safe storage and preparation of food, and how to mitigate fodborne illness risk. It will also provide them with an introduction to skills that can be used in everyday life and possibly in a work atmosphere. The card they will test for will be a volunteer card, so it can not be used for work other than volunteer work or babysitting.
