Gardening is not only a hobby and way to grow your own fresh food at home, it is also a place were students can engage in hands on learning. There is a lot that goes on in a garden that relates to fields of math and science. Students can also build understanding of traditional lifeways by having the opportunity to engage in similar paractices in a garden setting. I will be working collaboratively with the middle school science teacher Ms. McKay who manages our school garden to have my students help care for the garden regulalry while building their skills and knowledge.
