Students will practice literary analysis using textual evidence.  Pre-AP English challenges students to look at literature from different perspectives and formulate their own opinions about the piece of literature.

Fill your paper with the breathings of your heart.  ~William Wordsworth

All great pieces of writing are a reflection of humanity at its core--the hurts, the triumphs, the challenges, and the moments of wonder.  As we read great short stories, poetry, myths, and novels this year, we will analyze how the authors used words powerfully.  We will practice writing, so that the "breathings of your heart" fill your pages.

Learning is a life-long process, and I am so excited to be with you on this part of the journey.  As we embark on our path this year, make sure that you have "packed" for your journey.  Have you found your supplies that you need on the 2010-2011 AMS supply list?

I look forward to meeting you in August!
