How can I contribute?

Below are websites that I have discovered to be very useful for both students and parents:

Remind 101

https://www.remind.com/

Let's face it, 6th grade students tend to "forget" to share important information with their guardians. This website/app has enabled me to connect with parents regarding student progress and classroom reminders. For example, if field trip money is due on a specific day, I will send out a reminder through the app.. Additionally, it allows me to stay in constant communication regarding student progress. With this app, I can attach flyers, make announcements, and provide links for additional support. It has been a tremendous tool to provide instant communication.

Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS)

https://www.pbis.org/

As a new teacher, it may be challenging to develop classroom management techniques. As part of my professional development, I joined the PBIS committee at Mesquite Trails. This has been a incredible tool to aid in developing a foundation for my classroom management. Pbis.org provides various resources on behavior supports, classroom management, bully prevention, etc.. It has helped me develop a strong structure in my classroom and I highly recommend it!

Better Lesson

Better Lesson has been a great resource when creating lesson plans. Provided on this website are lesson and unit plans in various subjects from teachers around the country. The lessons align with the common core curriculum and provide great assistance if you are struggling with developing a lesson.
