About Me

My name is Deana Gillison. I was born in Anderson, SC. I am the youngest of 2. I am a mother of 1, who is 21. I also have 2 stepchildren and 4 grandchildren. I attended high school at Westside High school in Anderson, SC. I went to Tri-County Tech to get my medical assisting diploma. After my coursework I began working in a pediatrician’s office.

I have a passion for teaching/caring for children. At 18 I worked for First Baptist Child Development Center in Anderson, SC. While working there I was an assistant and a lead teacher for the 4K program. During my time as a lead teacher I  cared for the children in my care. After working there for 8 years, I decided to pursue another career in medical assisting.

After working in the Pediatricians office for 4 years, I decided I missed teaching and caring for the children. I went to a preschool in Liberty, SC. In 2018 my husband and I moved to Citra, FL. Once in Citra I worked at a preschool in Ocala, FL.  While I was working there, I decided to further my education in Early Childhood Education. I mastered taking my FCCPC. In fall 2019 I decided I would pursue getting my AS in Early Childhood. I began taking my course work at College of Central Florida.

Shortly after starting at CF I moved to Lakeland, FL. I began here, and never regret any moment of it. My goal is to finish with my AS degree and then proceed to get my bachelor’s degree. That has always been my dream since I was a small child.

I enjoy traveling, and spending time with family, and friends. My husband and I like to be outdoors. I like to read when I have free time. My favorite thing is to look at pinterest to get new ideas.
