10 Grade World History:

World History is a study of the development of the modern world from the late 18th Century to the present. The course focuses on the rise of democratic ideas with an emphasis on the following: Industrial Revolution, Imperialism, Colonialism, Nationalism, Totalitarianism, and World War I and II. The course also includes a focus on modern world crisis and the historical interactions of regions of the world through a detailed study of China, Japan, India, Middle East, and Latin America.

This is the site to use your web code from the textbook to access Practice tests and study guides.

3-Ring Binder:
Students are required to bring a binder everyday to class. The binder needs to be at least 1 inch and have pockets. All papers and materials will be organized throughout the year. It will be checked periodically for a grade.

Classroom Policies:

In order to maintain an appropriate learning environment in the classroom, students are expected to follow a few important classroom rules listed below.
1. Students should be prepared to work in assigned desk.
2. Be responsible and on task at all times.
3. No food or drinks are allowed in class.

4. Students are to sit down quietly and turn off cell phones.

Classwork, Homework, and Participation:

1. Plagiarism and cheating have no place in a community of active learners.

2. Engagement through dialogue is expected of all students in my classroom. Students are to respect each other when participating in discussions, debates, and collaborative groups.

3. Homework is due on time and only with prior permission from instructor will late homework be accepted.

Attendance:

1. If you have an excused absence you have the right to make up any classwork/homework without penalty. It is the student's responsibility to get missing work from instructor and complete it within 3 school days.

2. Unexcused Absence or Suspension nullifies your right to make up classwork or homework.

C+ = 78-79%

A- = 90-92%

B- = 80-82%

C-  = 70-72%

D- = 60-62%
