The Bloomfield Middle School Enrichment Class taught by Ms. Dugan received a large number of Golf Balls donated by Cedar-Fil Golf Course and Ms. Mary Jo Meyer.
The used golf balls were used for students to see how a flat map is not a true picture of location in the world. A map is actually a "distortion" of reality.
After a flat map is cut out like sections of an orange and glued to a round surface (golf ball), then a map becomes a true representation of location.
Thank you, Cedar-Fil, for helping make this activity possible.
