About Me

"If we desire respect for the law, we must first make the law respectable."   -Justice Louis D. Brandeis

Hello! My name is Emily Harrison, and I am the Criminal Justice teacher at Johnson County High School in Mountain City, TN.

In another life, I thought I wanted to be a defense attorney and work as a public defender. Instead, I married a public defender and realized my true passion was teaching! I am a 2014 graduate from Appalachian School of Law where I received my Juris Doctor, and a 2017 graduate of East Tennessee State University where I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching. I am licensed to teach Criminal Justice as part of Tennessee's CTE curriculum, 7-12 History, and 7-12 Government.

I hope to teach my students the rights that we have as American citizens because of that great document, the United States Constitution, what careers are available in the criminal justice field, how forensics has changed the game, and to have a better understanding of the United States and Tennessee court systems.
