Special Support Resources

If a student has behavior problems that continue throughout the semester, I will assess when and how often this happens by tracking what happens when.

I will then talk to not only the student, but to your students' other teachers as well as to you to find out what else might be happening in the student's life.  Together we will work out a plan to help your student avoid the bad behavior while learning what to do instead.  This may include:

  • contracts that state what the student will do, what I will do, and what the reward for completing the contract
  • talking with trained students about what happened and what should happen in the future (peer mediation)
  • a point system or reward system when the student acts correctly
  • a reminder system (beepers, signals, etc.)

I want every student to succeed in my class.  This process is bring success rather than to label a student as "bad."  Please work with me so that together we can help your student.
