Hey everyone!  This page seems to have some formatting issues and won't let me copy in a nice looking version of the syllabus.  I appologize for this.  You all have a hard copy.  Let me know if you need another one.

 Materials Needed Daily: Pen/PencilBinder/Folder for notes and homework- Organization is a MUST in this class.Notebook- 1 subject will be fine.  I will be printing out study-guides for you to fill out for each chapter.  They will be pre-punched to be inserted into a binder.   Projects: There will be four quarter projects, you will be given each project at the beginning of the quarter.        Quarter 1 Career Project- Due October 1st                 For this project, you will be expected to write a paper about a career of your choice.        Quarter 2 Tough Problems- Due December 10th                For this project, you will be expected to complete 6 out of 10 tough word-problems, showing all steps.        Quarter 3 Popsicle Stick Bridge Building Contest (pick your own groups 3-4 people)- Due March 9th    For this project, you and your teammates will be expected to build a bridge out of small popsicle sticks that holds 10 lbs, and spans 1 foot.        Quarter 4 Final Exam Presentations (I pick groups 3-4 people)- Due May 4th   For this project, you and your chosen teammates will be expected to write a study-guide for a chapter of the book and present it to the class as a review for the final exam.   Binder:   1.  Notes/Worksheets2.  Daily Objectives and Warm-Ups3.  Old Quizzes and Tests4.  Homework- Complete, with work shown, labeled and organized.  Assignment Schedule:*Any notes or HW may be used on Quizzes.   3. Always show ALL your steps in an organized way.
  4. Keep the room clean and organized.
  5. Participate to learn.
  6. Be seated when the bell rings at the end of the period.  I will dismiss you.
  7. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT:  For this class, you will need an organized binder.  By next Monday, your binder needs to be made.  If it is not, you will receive a 0 for the first quiz.  If you don’t think you can get to the store before then, see me after class.
 Rule: 
  1. Respect me.  Respect your peers.  Respect yourself.

    2. Tests (60 points per test)
    3. Quizzes (10 points per quiz- there will usually be 1 per week)
    4. Projects (50 points per project)
    5. Participation- Be in your assigned seat, have all the necessary materials, and participate in classroom activities and homework time.  Be respectful.  (5 points a week)

 Projects:             Semester 1:  Career Project   -DUE Tuesday, October 20th For this project, you will be expected to write a one-page report about a career that relates to math.  You will also be expected to include a relevant illustration, type the report, and present your findings to the class.             Semester 2:  Bridge Building Project    -DUE Tuesday, March 23rd For this project, you will be expected to work in groups to build a bridge out of popsicle sticks and white glue that holds 10 pounds and spans a length of 1 foot.     Algebra Standards Binder- With TABS:
