Mrs. Feroli 6th grade Reading

First, let me say thank you for choosing BPA! I know that middle school can be challenging. If I am completely honest with you, it was probably the hardest time of my life. I remember kids making fun of me for everything. It's just an awkward time in a child's life. Perhaps this is why I love the concept at BPA. Everyone is treated fairly, equally, and with respect. All the boys have the opportunity to meet some lifelong friends and develop character. I am excited to partner with you and your child for this important time in his life. As a parent of a middle school child, I know that we hope for the best environment and best teachers. It is my hope that you will discover both of those elements at BPA!

About Mrs. Feroli

Well, I love teaching! I have been teaching for 16 years. I remember lining up my teddy bears in the hallway and giving them a writing lesson. I think I was in 5th grade. I believe I have always wanted to teach but did consider other professions. I remember I wanted to be a news anchor but was afraid of the camera. How does that even work? I also remember trying out for HSN, but I froze up and stuttered. This is me just being real with you. How can someone who was so afraid of public speaking become a teacher? Well, if you want to learn how to swim, you have to jump in the water eventually. The more I practiced the more confident I felt. Over the years, I have developed into a confident educator. I have one Master Degree in Special Education. One Master Degree in Educational Leadership. I am currently working on my doctorate in curriculum and instruction. I was named the reading teacher of the year for our district in 2016-2017. I was named the teacher of the year for my previous high school for the 2017-2018 school year. I tell you all this for several reasons. I did not just jump into this profession, I grew in this profession. Sometimes, we are scared of things. For me, I was scared of public speaking. I was able to overcome being frightened by putting myself in the very situation that I was scared of. As a result of being uncomfortable for a little while, I now have the privilege of teaching your child and meeting you! How cool is that?
