Here are a few fun facts about myself:
Born and raised in Northeast Ohio.
Before becoming a teacher, I served in the United States Air Force for eight years. I attended Basic Training and Technical Training in San Antonio, Texas. I was then stationed at Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina. It was an amazing experience and I feel very honored to have served our country!
I have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Psychology (with a Minor in Sociology), from the University of South Carolina. Very proud to be a Gamecock!
Once I moved to the Miami area, I was recruited by a program called "Miami Teaching Fellows," and that is how I transitioned into becoming a teacher. One of the best decisions I've ever made! :o)
This will be my 13th year teaching. I've taught First, Third, and now Second Grade. My first three years I taught at Oak Grove Elementary in North Miami Beach, and this will be my tenth year here at NSE-SIB K-8.
I have a beautiful daughter, Olivia, who is the light of my life! I adopted her from Medellin, Colombia, just three days before she turned one! And now she's a 2nd Grader here at NSE-SIB K-8. I can't believe how fast the time goes!
My favorite hobby is photography.
Thank you for taking the time to read and learn a little more about me.
I look forward to learning more about you and your 2nd Grader!
