September 10 to 14

Computers - students are to bring their agendas to EVERY computer class

Grade 1

  • The students will continue to practice locating various keys on the QWERTY keyboard.  They will also practice logging into their personal accounts.

Grade 2

  • The students will continue to practice locating various keys on the QWERTY keyboard.  They will also practice logging into their personal accounts.

Grade 3

  • The students begin their keyboarding exercises.  They will also practice logging into their personal accounts.

Grade 4

  • The students begin their keyboarding exercises.  They will also practice logging into their personal accounts.

Grade 5

  • The students will be introduced to Google Docs.  They will also practice logging into their personal accounts.

Grade 6

  • The students will be introduced to Google Docs.  They will also practice logging into their personal accounts.

Grade 7

  • The students will be introduced to Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

Grade 8

  • The students will be introduced to Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides.

Music - students are to bring their agendas and binder/duo-tang to EVERY music class

Grade 1

  • The students will begin their journey through the orchestral families.  This week, they will learn about the brass family.

Grade 2

  • The students will review the notes of the treble clef.  They will also continue to practice the song Count On Me for the upcoming Grandparents’ Day assembly.

Grade 3

  • The students will learn to play “B” on their recorders.  They will also continue to practice the song Count On Me for the upcoming Grandparents’ Day assembly.

Grade 4

  • The students will continue to review notes and rhythms with their recorders.  They will also continue to practice the song Count On Me for the upcoming Grandparents’ Day assembly.

Grade 5

  • The students will continue to review notes and rhythms with their recorders.  They will also continue to practice the song Count On Me for the upcoming Grandparents’ Day assembly.

Grade 6

  • The students will practice playing C, F, and G chords on their ukuleles.  They will also continue to practice the song Count On Me for the upcoming Grandparents’ Day assembly.

Grade 7

  • Musical Analysis.  The students will continue to analyse songs with respect to structure.  Students are to pick their instruments for the upcoming year.  Those that wish to play keyboard/piano must have access to a keyboard/piano at home for practice purposes.  We have a limited number of glockenspiels available on a first come, first serve basis.  Students wishing to play orchestral instruments are encouraged to rent a quality instrument from places such as Long & McQuade or St. John’s Music.

Grade 8

  • Development of Western Music: The students will learn about the music during the Middle Ages and into the Renaissance.  Students are to pick their instruments for the upcoming year.  Those that wish to play keyboard/piano must have access to a keyboard/piano at home for practice purposes.  We have a limited number of glockenspiels available on a first come, first serve basis.  Students wishing to play orchestral instruments are encouraged to rent a quality instrument from places such as Long & McQuade or St. John’s Music.

Grade Eight Math

  • Lessons 9 to 12
  • There will be an assessment on Wednesday, September 19th.
  • Students are encouraged to refer to Mr. Kudera’s website for homework hints and challenge questions.
