Welcome to the 2008-2009 school year! My name is Annemarie Guertin and I am pleased to announce that I am your child's Kindergarten teacher! I would like to take a moment to introduce myself and share my beliefs with you.
My Experience: This is my ninth year teaching and my second year teaching at the Comprehensive Grammar School. Prior to arriving in Methuen, I taught in Lawrence, MA for 5 years. I taught 4th grade for two years and First grade for three years. I also taught 2nd grade in Tyngsborough, MA. I do have to saythough so far teaching Kindergarten has been the best experience yet .
My Education: I have two degrees in Education. I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood from Wheelock College and also a Master's in Education degree in Elementary Education from Fitchburg State College.
Beliefs: My beliefs (like many) are that children learn in many different ways. I strive to reach each type of learner within the class. I firmly believe that through experience children learn best. With that said, you may notice that I do not do a lot of worksheet type activities. I would consider myself as having a more hands on approach to learning.
My Hopes: My hope in creating this site is that you will gain a better sense on what is happening in the classroom. I will try very hard to keep this site updated with all the wonderful happenings going on in M100!
My Dreams: My goal for this year is to help your children gain the insight and knowledge needed to be successful not only in the curriculum but in life as well. The foundation of learning starts here and I know together we will make it strong!
How to reach me: Please feel free to approach me with any questions or concerns. Please dial the main school number at 978-772-9051 and type in extension 5270. I do have to say though the best way to reach me is via email. I check emails before and after school and try to get back to you as soon as I have a free minute. I can be reached via email at email@example.com
I am looking forward to a fantastic and productive Kindergarten year. And, I also look forward to working with all of you. Again thank you for your continued support and cooperation!
