About Me

My philosophy about Physical Education is: Students need to participate and learn life long activities to live a  healthy life.  Therefore, I encourage students to try new and different activities to expand their horizons.

My philosophy about Keyboarding and Health: Students need to take responsiblity for their learning.  Keyboarding in particiular is a skill that is learned and mastered at different ages.  I provide them with the means (the lessons) to improve their keyboarding skills, however it is the student's responsibility to work towards mastering the skill.

Health is not just the systems of the body in my opinion.  My goal is for each student to find the uniqueness and learn to accept it, or adapt their self image to one which they like.  We focus on the whole body, friends and family issues during the year.

About me:

I have been in education for most of my adult life.  I graduated in 1983 from Minot State University with Teaching Degrees in Elementary Education and Physical Education.

I taught 5-6th grade and was the Boys Varsity Basketball Coach in Deering, North Dakota for 1 year.  I taught 3rd grade and coached football, and basketball in Poplar, MT for 2 years.  I taught 6th grade and physical education, coached basketball and football in El Paso, TX for 5 years. I returned to North Dakota and taught 5 years as a Title I teacher and coached Track in Rolette, ND. I moved to Minot and was the Technology Coordinator for Des Lacs-Burlington for 9 years.  For 8 years I worked at Burdick Job Corps as the Cisco Computer Repair instructor.  I worked as a Dish Satellite Installer for 3 years and returned to Burdick Job Corps as a Director of Administrative Services.  After my exploration of not teaching and working directly with kids, I found myself missing the interaction, excitement and satisfaction of working with students. I am very happy working with the students, parents and staff at Parshall School District since 2017-18 school year.

I am the proud parent of 3 biological kids, 3 adopted kids, countless foster children who have blessed our home.  I have been married to my wife Tammy since 1981, who retired from Minot Public Schools as a Pre-School Special Needs Teacher in May of 2018, she is currently working on her 2nd occupation becoming a Minister.

I am a DEVOTED TWINS AND VIKINGS fan who believes every year will be the year!
