Our Solar System WebQuest

You will use this WebQuest to navigate through our solar system.  You will work with a partner or group to find the answers to all my questions and then write the answers on your own paper.  Each question will be a link to a website where you can find the answer.  Have fun and good luck!

The solar system is made up of the Sun (star), eight planets, 162 moons, and astroids and comets.  Pluto has recently been renamed a dwarf planet.  Question 1: What is one question about the solar system that you would like to have answered today?

Question 7: What is the temperature on the surface of the Sun?  Remember that 100 degrees Celcius is the boiling point!

The inner planets are Mercury, Venus, Earth, and Mars.  For each planet, find one cool fact to add to your paper.

The outer planets are Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.  For each planet, find one cool fact to add to your paper.  For Pluto the fact has to be something other than "It is now called a dwarf planet."

The Size of Earth

Here on Earth we can sometimes feel as if the universe revolves around us.  Take a look at this website to see how small we really are compared with the rest of the universe.

The Hubble Telescope

The Hubble Telescope orbits Earth every 97 minutes.  It takes pictures everything in space.  The pictures may seem unreal but every image is an actual picture taken by the Hubble.  Look at how beautiful our universe is!
