2. I need more help!
3. The bus driver won't let me come in before school. What should I do?
4. Do you offer retakes on tests and quizzes?

Remember that we start the year reviewing material from grade 7.
New material is presented in smaller quantities.
Madame Foley is available for extra help before and after school most days. Very limited help is available during activity periods Tuesdays and Thursdays. Extra help must be scheduled ahead of time. In order to see Madame Foley for extra help you MUST first schedule it by talking with her ahead of time. In addition to scheduling extra help, you need to ask for a pass.
Students often think that if they didn't get a good grade on a test or quiz, they can retake it ...And sometimes they can!
If a student is studying, doing the homework, following along and participating in class,
but is finding the material challenging, I will try to provide an opportunity to raise
the student's grade AND COMPREHENSION through extra credit or a test or quiz retake.
BUT, if it appears that a student just didn't study or isn't trying, then, no, there will be no retake opportunity.
Make-up tests/quizzes after absences are totally different....
5. I missed a test/quiz. When should I make it up?
If a student was only absent the day of the test or quiz (and didn't miss any of the material instruction), the student should be prepared to take the test or quiz the day he or she returns to school. If you email Madame Foley during the day of the test/quiz (or even that night), you can probably take it before school the next day.
If a student missed material instruction/homework review, etc., then the student will have up to three days to make up the test/quiz. Longer absences permit extended make-up opportunities. Normally, we try to schedule make ups for before or after school, not during class time.
