This is a good resource for teachers because it deals with the sensitive topic of child abuse that is noticed in the classroom. Death From Abuse

I believe that this book is useful for teachers and any professionals  working with children because it shares a sad tale of a little girl who would still be alive if these people would have noticed what was happening to her. It is important for anyone working with students to understand the effects abuse has on children if it is not prevented. By reading this book teachers and professionals working with students will be able to identify signs of abuse and be more willing to look for them.

 The Lottery Rose Lesson Plans

You are covering the content standards for a Literature class but also informing the students about child abuse. This is a win-win situation for teachers. It is important that students are aware of child abuse but sometimes it can be hard to incorporate into the subject of the class. Although this novel is about a young boy and a very easy read, the contents of the story i feel are for a mature audience and should be used in a High School Class instead of a Junior High Class.
