KHA Online

Welcome to KHA Online.  KHA Online was previously operated as KHA Merit Academy in Alamogordo, NM.  We closed our brick and mortar doors 7 years ago due to economic concerns.  KHA Merit Academy was founded in 2009 as a family owned and operated private preschool / Kindergarten with NM licensed teachers and small student - teacher ratios (8:1).  We grew into a Non-Profit Corporation, Kinder House Inc., (K4 -5th grade) focused on providing a top notch accelerated educational opportunity to students which could not be found in the area public schools.

After we closed the doors to KHA, we joined the public school sector.  Over the past 7 years of teaching we have grown increasingly frustrated with the direction public schools have taken:

  • focus on testing-not teaching
  • Common Core directives which do not consider individual learning styles of students
  • lack of critical thinking

The recent Corona Virus pandemic, and the requirement for public schools to move to the online environment (though temporary) has led us to consider the move toward an online homeschool program for parents who are also frustrated with the public school experience.  Our planning of this program is in the early phases, and we hope to be up and running and in the process of national accreditation by the beginning of the 2020-21 school year.

Please enter our site to find out more about our unique school and educational program.  All of our teachers hold bachelors degrees or higher and are licensed teachers through the NM Public Education Department.

I look forward to taking with you about how KHA Online can meet your child's learning needs.
