Our Teachers

Kristi R. Lachlan, M.Ed

After 14 years as a teacher and administrator in private schools and early learning environments, I am so excited to make the move to public school and especially to get back to Montessori where I began my education journey in 2005. On top of that, I get to be a Tiger again (being an alumnus of Auburn University...War Eagle!)!  Joining the teaching team at Huntley Hills this year presents me with an opportunity to get back to daily connections with students and their families for which I am so grateful. On top of being a Montessori Elementary I teacher, I am also a Montessori parent, having raised my two children in Montessori, one girl (18) and one boy (14). I have lived in a variety of places including Germany, Virginia, Georgia, Alabama, and even Alaska! I know Alaska was my favorite adventure.  It was after returning home to Georgia from Alaska that I decided to work on my Master's studies in Education. I eventually completed three degrees with the University of the Southwest in New Mexico (education administration, early childhood education, curriculum & instruction).  I guess I just love to learn! In my free time, I enjoy quiet activities like reading, sewing, nature walks, or volunteering at church as a teacher and supporting the theatre ministry.  I look forward to getting to know all of you and walking the learning journey with you.

Let's have a spectacular new school year! Thank you for sharing your awesome youngster with us. My greatest passion is helping and guiding students to get engrossed in learning and focus on their academic performance.   I am thrilled to work together with Ms. Lachlan.  I have taught for over thirty years-after getting my Early Childhood Education BA in Korea, before obtaining my Association Montessori International Diploma from the Montessori Institute of Atlanta, and have now taught at Huntley Hill for two decades.  In 1983, I published a three-volume set of dramatic plays for youth with the Catholic Community of Korea Publishing Company.  I like to explore and new adventures and love ballroom dancing. In my personal time, I enjoy the freedom and independence of going on road trips for the solitude, fresh air, and listening to great music!
