Welcome to Mrs. Larson's classroom! I am very excited to start this new year with you!
I was born and raised in Colorado, and moved to Kansas 2 years ago, right after I got married! I went to the University of Northern Colorado as well as Metro. State College of Denver. I graduated in 2005, and got my license in 2007. I live in Derby with my husband and 2 orange boy tabby cats. Their names are Jazz and Ragtime, and they LOVE to play and eat! I love to spend time with my family in Colorado, as well as my husband and kitties. I also enjoy reading, golfing, swimming, gardening, scrapbooking, watching movies, and playing the Wii. I love to cook dinner for friends, and spend time outdoors!
I believe that a good education is important for everyone! We have many great things planned for this school year, and I look forward to working with each student and getting to know more about you. We will learn many things, and have fun exploring new ideas! Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the year. I check my e-mail throughout the day, every day!
Feel free to e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
In math, we will be working on multiplication facts, and MAPS+ computation. We will work with multiplication triangles, as well as many Everyday Math activities to help us memorize facts and understand the multiplication problems! We have many new and exciting things in store for us.
Please let me know if there are any questions or concerns regarding homework, expectations, or grades.
Homework will be sent home every day and students are expected to have their parent/guardian sign their facts sheet every night. Please have your child bring this sheet back to school every day, as I will be grading them on their fact practice. Students are also expected to complete one or two sets in their Powerdrill a day. Check their agenda to see what set is to be done. Powerdrills are due every Friday.
This year is the year for the Kansas State Test. Don't worry, you will be prepared and feel ready when the time comes! We will work hard to get ready for the test, but we'll have fun doing it!
Here are some websites we go to during class. You can get on them at home too!
