Who Are Exceptional Learners?
From the Council for Exceptional Children, here is a detailed list of terms and definitions for those exceptional learners. The term includes all children with difficulties learning as well as those with superior performance requiring changes to their curriculum.
Growing Trends in Education
In the past we have seen exceptional learners placed in individualized classrooms, separated from the general curriuclum. However, there is a growing trend to instead provide inclusive classrooms with teachers trained to teach.
