11th Grade U.S. History

I plan on using this website for communication purposes.  This is an outlet that we will use to display your work, my contact information, classroom policies, and anything that I and the students wish to share.  I encourage parents to continuously view this site and help benefit our little community!

Classroom Rules

  1. Treat others the way you would like/expected to be treated.

  2. I will respect all of you, and I expect to be respected by you.

  3. No excuses for late or incomplete work.

  4. Come prepared for class.

Course Information

This course will follow very closely with the New York State Social Studies Framework which can be found here:  http://www.nysed.gov/common/nysed/files/programs/curriculum-instruction/ss-framework-9-12.pdf

Our course will follow the New York State Social Studies Framework because at the end of the year, students will be required to pass and take the U.S. History Regents Exam.  This test is given by NYS and students will need at least a 65 on the test to pass the exam.  Students will not however need to pass the regents exam to pass the course, but the test will need to be passed in order for the student to graduate.

No Excuses

My students will be held to very high standards throughout my course.  All assignments must be handed in or submitted online by the due date.  Failure to do so will result in a lunch detention or after school detention that will be done within my classroom.  During this time we will ensure the assignment is completed or create goals to ensure it does not happen again.  I understand also that life gets in the way for everyone.  If you believe you are not able to comeplete becasue of extenuating circumstances, please feel free to contact me via email, or cell phone for an emergency.  Communication is key!
