I am Ms. Memmel. I have been teaching for six years. This is my third year teaching at St. Joseph School. I have enjoyed teaching at SJS and I am proud to be a part of such a loving community. This will be my second year teaching Kindergarten. I am so excited for a great year!
Attending Catholic elementary and high school myself, I am proud to return as a teacher. After graduating Bishop Kearney High School, I attended Canisius College in Buffalo, NY. I received my Degree in Childhood and Special Education with a focus on Middle School English. After graduating I took a year off of school to experience teaching in the Rochester area. In 2017, I graduated with my Masters in Literacy B-12 from SUNY Brockport. I have worked as a long term elementary teacher at many schools in the area as well as an Academic Support Teacher in East Irondequoit for two years. In 2019, I received my Professional Teaching Certification in Childhood Education, Special Education, Middle School English, and Literacy B-6.
I am passionate about Literacy and Differentiation. I believe in teaching the whole child and building strong relationships with my students and their families. I love working with all the teachers and staff at St. Joseph School. I have pride in the close relationships I've built with the faculty/staff as well as the Penfield community.
I enjoy the outdoors, boating, exercising, and traveling. I love animals and I enjoy collecting different types of plants and art. I have many favorite colors, some are: blue, purple, and yellow.
