Meet Miss Jimenez

The Basics:

Hi! My name is Miss Jimenez! I am 20 years young! I will be your child's 3rd grade Math teacher for the 2017-2018 school year! This will be my first year to teach, I am excited to start off this new journey. In 2016, I graduated from Western Texas College in Synder, TX with my Associates Degree. I soon then decided that I wanted to become a teacher because I love to help students learn and be there for them. In 2019, I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Education at Grand Canyon University in Arizona.

My Childhood:

I grew up in a little town known as Sweetwater, TX. I attended South East Elementary, SIS, and then Middle School. I then went to finish up my high school career in a town 8 miles from Sweetwater, known as Roscoe.  I have one younger sister named Brittany. We are very close together, she is like my bestfriend!

My Education:

My freshman year I decided that I wanted a better education and took up a great oppurtunity at Roscoe Collegiate High School where I finished off my Senior year graduating with my Associates Degree. I then soon decided that I wanted to become a teacher and help out students. I then started off college at Grand Canyon University where I graduated with my Bachelors Degree in Education in 2019. I am a certified Kinder through 8th grade teacher.

Teaching Philosophy:

Teaching allows me to fulfill what I believe to be fundamental responibility of Mathematics. There are a few objectives that I as an educator want to teach.

Objective 1: Students should understand the relevance of mathematics to their daily lives. I will emphasize relevance by discussing real life situations, by asking students to share an example.

Objective 2: Students should know where to find relevant information, on how to evaluate their understanding to issues.
