Miss Tate spent most of her childhood in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but has lived in Missouri, Florida, Virginia, and Illionois all before graduating high school! She attended Oklahoma Christian University where she received a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education in 1996. After teaching a year in Louisiana, Miss Tate moved to Dallas, Texas to work with an organization that taught at summer youth camps in Eastern Europe. In 2000 Miss Tate began teaching in Coppell, Texas. While there she taught fourth and fifth grades and earned the distinguished Who's Who Among America's Teachers twice! Miss Tate received her Master's in Teacher Leadership from Lamar University in 2009. Miss Tate began teaching fifth grade at Centennial Elementary in Scio, Oregon in March 2011.
Miss Tate loves to tell stories about her family (especially her niece and nephews) and all the places she has visited. She spent a semester in college stuying in Vienna, Austria, spent a summer in Brussels, Belgium, taught a seminar on character education at a university in Volgograd, Russia, and spent a few summers in Ukraine and Kazakhstan. That is not including all the family vacations she took throughout the South while growing up! She still hasn't seen the Grand Canyon or visited Disneyland, so that is next on her list of adventures!
