Hello, my name is Katherine Langford
My passion in life is teaching. I have dedicated myself to becoming the very best teacher I possibly can. I strive to continue to educate myself on the various methods of teaching and never stop developing new and exciting teaching practices. I believe that as teachers we always have to keep learning so that we can help other learn successfully.
I received my Honors Bachelor Degree in Communications and Public Relations from the University of Colorado in 2004 and completed my Bachelor of Education at Trent in 2007. I also completed my Early Childhood Education diploma through Algonquin College in 2011 and have completed multiple specialized training courses through Queens University including Special Education and Kindergarten Specialist. I have worked with children in a variety of fashions since I was in high school and enjoy being able to share my love of learning with each of my students.
I strongly believe that teaching should be guided by seven simple but important principles: 1) Provide support for self-directed learning by students, 2) Develop programs which will reflect the real world and its changing nature, 3) Individual students needs and aspirations must be recognized and supported 4) Encourage continuous involvement of parents and the community 5) Be a mentor and model of lifelong learning 6) Maintain flexibility and accountability within the curriculum and 7) Foster critical and creative thinking, problem solving and good decision making in all students.
I am looking forward to working with you and your child and watching them grow and develop into brilliant little learners.
