I have been teaching the third grade for two years and it's absolutely my favorite grade! A little about me...I grew up in Pasadena, California, and after finishing the first half of college, I worked in display sales and travelled extensively. I even lived in England for a time. I moved to Vegas with my two children seven years ago, and decided to change careers. I discovered I had a passion for teaching. I love to read on the weekends and write stories in my spare time. I love my coffee in the morning, and I love listening to music while driving to work.
I am currently getting credentialed at Grand Canyon University and have remained on the Dean's List for six months. I've come to realize this is a dream of mine and I can't wait to be your student's teacher!
My teaching philosophy has always been each student learns in their own unique way. I like to use many different methods of teaching to reach each individual students, although some practices I like to use for the whole class including several of Spencer Kagen's teaching strategies. Everything from Character Building structures where each student will compliment a fellow student's work to cooperative learning Instructional strategies to help second language learning. Every strategy I use helps the students come alive with learning and engage them in ways they never were before!
