Here are some activities you can do at home as well as videos to practice concepts like letters, sounds, rhyming, beginning letter sounds, and blending letters to read simple words.
Find words and objects around the house that begin with different letters. Make it a game! Start with A and find items until you have gone through the entire alphabet!
Read, read, read!
Practice writing letters and sight words using shaving cream in the bathtub or on a cookie sheet. Call out a letter sound and have your child write the letter it represents in the shaving cream.
Play a rhyming word memory game (included in the work packet).
