About Mrs. Mack

This is my 7th year teaching at Heritage Middle School. I started off at HMS as the In School Suspension teacher until a Science classroom position became available.  I have taught all three grade levels of Science since I have been here.

Prior to Heritage, I taught 1 year in elementary (5th grade).  I was also a substitute and a Volusia Schools volunteer for a number of years.

I have my Associates of Science Degree from Daytona Beach Community College (back before it became Daytona State College).  I also earned a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Central Florida.

I am originally from Buffalo, NY.  I met my husband in Colorado when we were both in the Army.  I have been married for 23 years and have 3 children.  My oldest (step)daughter, Cristina, is 32 years old and lives in Virginia with her husband and baby.  My son, Brock, is 20 years old and is currently in the Army and stationed at Ft. Bliss in Texas.  My youngest daughter, Bethany, is 18 years old and is attending Daytona State College.

I have 2 dogs, 5 cats, 1 horse and 2 fire bellied toads.  I really love amphibians and reptiles.  If you ever visit my classroom, you will quickly see my passion.

When I'm not in the classroom (or lesson planning), I enjoy spending time with my family and pets.  I like to read (my favorite genres include horror, mystery and fantasy), spend time outdoors and do crafts (such as cross-stitch, crochet, and scrapbook).

I look forward to a great year!!
