Behavior Program
In-class behavior is essential in order for students to become successful. If behavioral issues surface and a student becomes a disruption to the teacher, classmates, or even themselves I may perform a Functional Behavioral Assessment or create a behavior contract with your child. Parents you will be contacted first before any of the above measures take place.
Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA): Is an observational assessment that is performed to observe and assess behavioral issues. A student's specific behavior is monitored and timestamps are recorded showing the times in which the behavior occurs. The reseults from several observations are reviewed and a behavior plan, such as a behavior contract, will be written. This documents the agreement between the student and the teacher. This plan is put into action and the student's behavior is observed again to check if there are imporvements in the child's behavior. An example of this plan follows.

Behavior Contract: This is a contract that is made between the teacher and the student. The teacher and the student discuss the student's current disruptive or unacceptable school behavior and figure out a plan on how to solve this problem. The student usually gets some kind of reward for thier good behavior.
Example of a Behavior Contract on the student Kaite:
Student Name: Katie Cat Date:
Katie will work on
If Katie succesfully works on this task she will recive homework passes.
