Week of September 12-16
Phew! Learning is in progress and we are off and ready to go! This upcoming week we will be adding on the words "the" and "little." So far they should know I and am. They really struggled with these words, so please reinforce them at home with flashcards. Our story for the week is titled Plaidypus Lost. We will be studying the vocabulary words platypus, around, lost, found, market, and groceries. Plaidypus is a stuffed animal who keeps getting lost and then found once again. Our skill focus this week is sequencing. We will be painting three scenes from the story and putting them in order. We will be learning the letters Oo, Pp, Qq, Rr and Ss. Our Decodable Readers will include the words "the" and "little." When these come home on Fridays, please practice them as much as you can.
The Scott Foresman required high frequency list is at the front of your child's homework book. Please practice this list daily. Kindergarten students must master all 40 words by June. Homework books are due this Friday and will be sent home either that same day or on Monday. Friday folders went home on Friday. Please make sure they come back every Monday.
