Dear Parents, Guardians, and Families,
Welcome back! I am so happy to have your child in my class this year!
My name is Lynn Qu. Your child will call me “ Qu Lao Shi”. Lao Shi means teacher in Chinese and Qu is my last name. That’s how we address teachers at school. I came from Dalian, China. After graduating from South China Normal University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Chinese Language and literature, I earned my Master’s Degree in Education from San Francisco State University. I wanted to be a teacher because I love HELPING KIDS GROW INTO THEIR BEST SELVES. I am really looking forward to a great year
with all of you! Here are some of the expectations to help us make this year a successful one together!
The school starts at 8:15 am. It is very important that your child arrives on time. If your child is tardy, you must sign in at the office and get a tardy pass. Absences and tardiness will be marked in your child’s permanent record. The class ends at 2:45 pm Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays and 1:00 pm on Wednesdays. If you need to pick up your child before dismissal time, please check-in at the main office first. If your child cannot come to school due to illness or emergency, please call the school office and leave a message. Please notify me if any absence is anticipated in advance.
I strongly recommend that you check the homework folder every day and keep it in your child’s backpack. Our schoolwork and any notes will go home in this folder. Also, I would love to hear how your child is doing at home with his or her homework – if you have any comments, please leave a note on the homework. Thank you for your support and participation. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me through the ClassDojo message.
Looking forward to meeting you all!
