Reading Goals

Reading Goals

As a class our goal is to read a little bit at home every night! We're working towards a classroom reading party at the end of the year. Parent Letter.

October: Personal Reading Goals!

If your child reaches their goal they will now recieve a coupon for a free kid's pizza from the Book-It Program!

Please help your child reach this goal by helping them fill out their reading log daily and returning them to school weekly. Include any books that your child is reading on their own or echo reading to you. You may record books that someone reads to them as well.

Our Classroom Library Program:

This year our first grade students are able to check out books from our classroom. My hope is that our library reading program gives our first graders another opportunity to read the many wonderful books that we have in our classroom. I hope it continues to nourish their love for love for reading. Therefore, this program is designed to be done at each student's pace and at their own reading level. If your child has taken book from our classroom library and they are finished with them, simply return your child's reading folder with their updated reading log and books to school where they can pick out new books.

A red, blue, or silver star represents a read-to-self book.

A green star represents a read-to-me book.

Happy Reading!
