Classroom Mission: Our mission is to create and sustain a positive, enriching, caring, and successful learning environment, where all students excel to their best potentials. We will practice and implement positive habits that will enable students to be lifelong self-directed and independent learners. We will also instill healthy self-esteems and inspire all to strive for their hopes and dreams.

Language Arts: Students are continuing to develop their knowledge of proper sentence formation, prefixes and suffixes, similes, metaphors, personification and alliteration. They are also making personal connections with our readings in class through journal entries.  

Math: Students are focussing on their understandings of fractions with converting improper fractions, adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions. 

Science: Students are working in small groups to develop experiments and models for our science fair this month, which will be held during the week of April 22 to April 26th.

Art: Students are creating clay coil pots. 

Upcoming events : April 10th- Dr. Art Costa parent workshop 6:30 p.m. April 17th- Spring Talent Show. April 22nd to April 26th- School Science Fair. 

School News: We will be continuing state assessment testing in both language arts and mathematics this week. Please help students prepare by studying, getting good rest, and having a healthy breakfast!  

Family Support: We would love to have chaperones join us for our field trip to see the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" by Shakespeare on May 10th. Please contact me if you would like to join us! We will also be covering poetry, cultural heritage, and functions of the human body in the upcoming weeks. If you would like to visit our class as a guest speaker on one of these topics please let me know!
