Instagram is rolling out pinned comments to all users in an effort to help people better moderate their comments section. Instagram announced the new feature on Twitter on Monday, July 7. Instagram's pinned comments, as the name implies, are similar to pinned posts and comments on other platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube.
To try out the new feature, make sure you've updated your Instagram app to the most recent version.
How to Pin Comments on Instagram?
If you have been wondering how do you pin a comment on Instagram? Follow the steps outlined below.
Step 1: To begin, launch the Instagram app on your smartphone.
Step 2: Next, open a post and navigate to the comments section.
Step 3: Now, either long-press or swipe left on the comment you want to pin (Depending on your device)
Step 4: Tap on the pin icon to pin your comment, a notification reading, or both "Pin up to three comments to highlight positivity at the top of your post. When you pin a comment, we will notify the author."
Step 5: Finally, press the Pin Comment button.
You can repeat the steps as many times as you want to pin three of your favorite comments. You can view the options when asked whether you want to respond, report, or delete a comment. In addition, a new Pin icon will be visible.
Can you Pin your Own Comment on Instagram?
You cannot, however, pin your own comments to your Instagram posts. Only other people's comments can be pinned to your posts.
