I was born in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Florida when I was 13 years old.
I have been teaching 4th grade for 7 years. Prior to teaching my own class, I was a substitute teacher for 6 years while I was working on my degree in Elementary education. Prior to that I worked for an Architect as an office manager for many years. This is a second career for me, but teaching has always been my passion. As a student, I loved math and science. As a teacher, I love all subjects. There is so much to learn, and I feel that I can never know it all. I learn something new all the time.
I am married and have three children. I have two girls who are in college and my son is in High School. All of my children attended Sunset Lakes Elementary. I also have two dogs and a cat.
Some things I like to do in my free time are go to a good movie or have dinner out. A couple of my favorite places to eat are Longhorn Steakhouse, Brio, Lime Fresh Mexican Grill, Chili's, Sweet Tomato, and Japan Inn. For a treat I like to go to Yogurt Land and Coldstone Creamery. I try to eat a healthy, low-carb diet, but will cheat a little and have some chocolate. I love chocolate!!
Another thing I like to do in my spare time is read. I love to get a good book and lose myself in it. My imagination just takes over and I can visualize the whole plot and characters. Sometimes I pretend to be the main character. What better way to interact with the story!!
