Middle School Summer Remediation (for repeat courses)

Online Summer School for Middle School Students (this replaces the traditional Summer Academy)

HCPS promotion policy states:

To qualify for promotion between middle grades, or from middle school to high school, students must earn a passing final grade in the four core subject areas of English, math, science, and social studies.  Students who fail one or more core subjects are retained and recommended to attend summer school to retake the failed courses.  If the student does not attend summer school, he/she will be retained. 

*The maximum number of courses that can be taken in summer school is TWO.

  • Online registration for summer school registration will be available from May 26th - June 17th
  • The deadline to complete online registration is June 17th
  • Tuition is $180 per course ($360 for two courses), and payment is due by July 10th.
  • Instructions for the online payment system will be emailed to parents upon completion of online summer school course registration.
  • Summer school will be held online this summer, through Schoology, from July 13th – August 6th
  • Students may take ONE or TWO courses, but all summer school courses must be completed between July 13th – August 6th.
