Welcome to Mr. Bahan's World Geography Page!
UPDATE: TEST OVER THE BASICS OF GEOGRAPHY IS THIS FRIDAY, 9/4. STUDENTS HAVE BEEN GIVEN A TEST REVIEW. IT IS IMPORTANT THAT THIS IS COMPLETED.
About me,I was born and raised in Nashville. I graduated from Hillsboro High and majored in Geography at UT Knoxville. After spending my 20’s out west in Colorado, Wyoming, and Texas I moved back and enrolled in Tennessee State University where I earned a master’s degree in education. This is my ninth year teaching and eighth year in metro. I have been a part of the Ninth Grade Academy since the beginning. I have a wife, two great kids, a wonderful dog, a geriatric cat, and four chickens. Sports and music take up way too much of my free time. I used to fish but now I have kids. Some day I’ll return to the local rivers with a rod in hand.
Enough on that, here is what you need to know to survive and thrive in World Geography.
First thing you need to do is to check out our team website http://redteam.educatorpages.com to get an idea of expectations for what to bring, what to wear, and what happens when you are not where you're supposed to be.
What about cell phones in class??? You may have them in school as long as they are turned off and put away. If I see one out in class, I will lock it up until the end of the day. The second time I will lock it up until I contact a parent or guardian. After that it's between you, your keepers, and your principal.
What about my textbook??? For the next week or so, we will be using a class set. Starting on the 27th of this month, I will issue textbooks. You have the option of opting out of getting a textbook and going accessing your book either online or from a DVD that I can issue you.

Lastly, be ready to contribute. We will work collaboratively in this class and it is important that you shine.
