About Me

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to 3rd Grade Math where Learning is Our Superpower. My name is SherRonda Jefferson. I am thrilled and excited to learn of you and your child. I do understand that learning begins at home and the parent/guardian is the most important teacher. Together you and I will work to ensure that your child achieve his/her goals. After introducing myself to the Superheroes (students) in the class, I wanted to become acquainted with the parent as well.

I am a 1st year teacher. I have graduated from Mississippi Valley State University with a BS in Elementary Education. I plan to enroll in then Masters of Arts in Teaching this Fall.  I believe that education is the core of the world we live in.  Just think about all the people who make this world what it is today:  politicians, secretaries, servicemen, entrepreneurs, etc. our Superheroes.  The reason they are who they are is because of educators.  My shortcut philosophy on education is that every child, no matter their background, deserves an effective learning environment.

I do understand this year may be challenging for the student due to changes, however I can assure you with your assistance this will be a great year. My platform is based off Superpowers. Encouraging each student that they can do whatever they put their minds to do. This platform will allow me to focus on academics as well as plan activities to connect the lessons together. This will enhance the student’s creative skills, communication, team building, and a fun filled learning experience.  By the end of the year the student will know their Superpower which will be all that they have learned over the year.

If at any time you want to stop by just to say hello or to check on the status of your child’s progress you can do so during my planning period. Planning period is everyday from 10:00a-11:00a. Please contact me 24 hours prior to ensure I can meet during that time.

Again, I look forward to a great year.

Ms. SherRonda Jefferson
