1. COLLABORATIVE LEARNING

ACTIVITY 1 - Fanctile (Human Cells)

Students must be able to explore various types of human cells and plant cells.

 

Content standard - 2.1 Cell – structure, function and organization 

Learning standard - 2.1.5 - Differentiate the types and functions of animal cells and plant cells.

Direction -

  1. Pupils will be shown a website link to do this activity.
  2. Pupils have to work in a group of 3 in this activity.

     3.Pupils have to answer questions based on human cells.

     4. Pupils must compete with the opponent group for the points

     5. The winner with highest points will be rewarded.

ACTIVITY  2 Storage (Plant Cell)

 

Content standard - 2.1 Cell – structure, function and organization 

Learning standard - 2.1.5 - differentiate the types and functions of animal cells and plant cells.

Direction -

  1. Pupils have to work in a group of 6 for this activity.
  2. Group leaders chose a card in order to get their respective topics.
  3. Then, pupils drew the structure, write down the characteristics and functions in a manila card.
  4. Pupils must submit their work.

2. GAME BESED LEARNING 

ACTIVITY 1 - MAZE

Students must be able to identify the functions of organelles. 

 

Content standard - 2.1 Cell – structure, function and organization 

Learning standard -  2.1.3 Communicate about each structures in cells with their functions as well as compare and contrast animal cells with plant cells. 

Direction -

  1. Pupils must play this game in a group of 5.
  2. Pupils will be given a link to access this game.
  3. Pupils have to find the functions of organelles that present in both animal and plant cell.
  4. Pupils then will be given 10 minutes to present about the function of organelles in plant cell and animal cell.
  5. Pupils will be receiving feedback after the presentation.

  2. Pupils will be given a link to play tic-tac-toe.
  3. Pupils have to answer 10 questions based on types and functions of both animal and plant cells.

Learning standard - 2.1.4 Explain the characteristics of unicellular and multicellular organisms for animal cells and plant cells. 

 

Direction:

  1. Pupils must work individually for this activity.

     2. Pupils have to do a short research on the given microorganisms.

    3. Pupils will be shown two posters on unicellular and multicellular organisms.

�  4. Pupils then have to write down the characteristics, functions and how they reproduce.

  5. Pupils submit their work.

ACTIVITY 2 - Experiment on cheek cell 

Students must be able to conduct an experiment to discover organelles present in animal cell. 

Content standard - 2.1 Cell – structure, function and organization

Learning standard - 2.1.2 Demonstrate the preparation of slides of animal cells and plant cells using the correct procedures. 

 

Direction -

  1. Pupils must do this activity individually.
  2. Pupils must read the lab manual given carefully.
  3. Pupils must place the prepared slide under the microscope and view it at low, medium and high power.
  4. Pupils must draw the image that they have seen under microscope at different range.
  5. Pupils must find out and label the organelles that are visible.
  6. Pupils can submit their work.

4. COOPERATIVE LEARNING - PICTURES OF MULTICELLULAR AND UNICELLULAR 

Students must be able to differentiate multicellular and unicellular organisms.

Content standard - Explain with examples the characteristics of unicellular and multicellular organisms for animal cells and plant cells

Direction -

  1. Pupils must be in a group of 5.
  2. Pupils must play the match the items by taking turns.
  3. After that, pupils must draw the pictures of organisms that they have seen in the link in a mahjong paper.
  4. Pupils must label the organism of multicellular and unicellular.
  5. Pupils must present their drawing and explain the characters of organisms.
