Ability is what you're capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it. -Lou Holtz
I graduated from Buffalo State College with my Masters in Speech-Language Pathology in May 2009. As my first year practicing as a speech therapist has culminated, I have realized how much time I spent planning my therapy sessions and locating materials. This website will provide parents, students, speech pathologists, and future speech pathologists with useful information. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Students: Please take advantage of my website to access games and activities to practice your speech and language skills. I am responsible for teaching you the skills you need to succeed in therapy, but you are responsible for applying the skills outside of therapy sessions. Become your own advocate and practice achieving your goals by utilizing the materials I have included under Interactive Links.
My therapy sessions: Speech and language therapy sessions with my older students always includes discussing the word of the day. The students love to see what the new word is going to be when they enter the speech room. The word from the previous session is always discussed, as well as the new word. My younger students start of speech sessions with a short discussion about their weekend or what they did the night before. The atmosphere in the speech room is very comfortable and welcoming. Speech therapy is fun and engaging!!
