The STAR binder is the daily communication from home and school. Please initial both the daily and weekly behavior reflection logs. On the right pocket you will find your child’s class work, please empty daily.
To help reinforce our behavior plan, please praise your child if he/she brings home a positive note or great work. Also talk to your child about making good choices if he/she had a difficult day.
Establishing good classroom discipline is essential to each child’s success, confidence, and well-being. Every child should feel that the classroom environment is safe and secure. In addition, it is important that each child learn to develop self-discipline and good work habits, to resolve conflicts peacefully, and to think independently. For these reasons, our behavior plan has many components.
The first part of the plan involves logical consequences that occur if rules our broken. Examples of logical consequences include time out for disruptive behaviors; cleaning or repairing damaged property, or written/verbal apologies for aggressive behaviors.
Your child receives a sticker/stamp for good behavior on weekly reflection sheet. If your child loses his/her sticker you will see a note on the daily sheet. The daily sheet is a more detailed behavior note. The daily sheet is used for behavior plans and IEP planning. The weekly reflection sheet is used to celebrate individual success and needs.
