General Information

Take-home Folders - Each Monday I will send home folders that contain your child’s graded papers from the week along with our school's weekly newsletter.  Please take the papers out and return the folder on Tuesday.

Memory Work - We have memory work on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.  Check my bulletin board on FastDirect if you need the latest list of verses assigned.

Church and Sunday School attendance - Each Monday I will be recording church and Sunday school attendance.  If you do not have a church home, you are welcome to join us at Immanuel for worship on Sunday mornings at 8:00 or 10:30. Sunday School is at 9:15.

After School Plans - If your child’s after school routine is going to be different, make sure that your child has a note or that you call the office.

Reading - As you know kindergarten, we focus a lot on reading.  It’s amazing and very exciting to see your child begin to read and progress throughout the year.  In order for your child to be successful, it is very important that your child is present every day on time and practices reading at home as much as possible.  Sometimes reading will be assigned for homework from our school books, but most of the time your child will need to practice reading books you have at home.

Book Orders - Toward the end of each month, I will send home Scholastic Book Orders in your child’s take-home Folder.  There are usually several books that are very cheap and are excellent for your child to practice reading.  Please make checks payable to Amy Schnelle and I will send the money in all together or you may order online using a credit card or you can also order online.  The books usually arrive in less than two weeks.

Snacks - We don’t have a snack time every day in kindergarten.  However, if your child is celebrating a birthday, treats can be brought and shared with the class.
