Dear Parents,

Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year!  I am looking forward to a great school year.  Our gifted class will be self-contained this year.  Gifted ELA and Mathematics will be learned at the fourth grade level. Social Living will be learned on grade level.  Enrichment will be integrated into our schedule.  Tests will  be given as needed.  Students will use school agendas to record homework assignments and upcoming tests.   Graded papers will usually be sent home each Tuesday.  Please sign the cover sheet to indicate that they have been reviewed and return on Wednesday.

Progress reports will be sent home mid-nine weeks. Homework will be assigned as needed.  Each student will start the 9 weeks with 36 points for Reading homework, 36 points for Language homework, 36 points for Math homework, and 36 points for Social living homework.  If the student returns homework, then no points are deducted and the student maintains a 36/36 (100%) homework grade.  One point will be subtracted each time the student does not return/complete the homework.  The 9-week grade for Math, Reading, Language, and Social Living homework will be averaged in with the test grades and activity grades for each subject. Please encourage your child to complete all assignments on time.

Our class will follow the schoolwide PBS rules and expectations for behavior.  A daily conduct grade will be given. These will be averaged at the end of each week.  This grade will go home on the signed papers.

I look forward to working with you and your child this school year. If you have any questions or concerns, I would be happy to discuss them with you.  Please do not hesitate to contact me by note, agenda, signed papers, phoning the school, or emailing me at aeperron@lpssonline.com.
