How to make a DIY desk?

It’s not particularly hard if you possess the willingness to try your hand in assembling and a bit of time to spare.

Foremost, consider the position of your electric desk. As it will require a source of energy, place it near a power socket to avoid dealing with extra wires scattered all around the room.

The process of making a DIY adjustable standing desk is pretty straightforward. The first step is to assemble the frame. When you buy one, there will be instructions and all the extra parts you will require to complete this step. It is important that, before proceeding to the next step, you use the remote control to make sure the frame moves up and down correctly.

The second step is attaching the tabletop to the frame. For this, it will be necessary to flip the frame upside down. You might want some help with this since frames are often quite heavy and bulky for a single person to handle. Put the frame on top of the tabletop. Mind that it should be bigger than the frame - it’s recommended to leave no less than 0.5” overhang on either side. Next, fix the tabletop in place using the screws.

As the final step, you will need to install the control box, and hide and clip the cables to the underside of the tabletop. After flipping the table to its standing position, don’t forget to program the controls so that the height of the table corresponds to your requirements when both sitting and standing. This way, you will be able to change the height at a single press of a button.
