About Mrs. Priest

Hello! I'm Amy Priest and I am the lead teacher for the PreK class at All God's Children. This will be my 12th year with AGC and my 10th year as lead teacher for the M/W/F PreK class. This is the first year I will not be assisting in the 3's class.  I absolutely love this age group of children! They are so full of wonder and excitement for everything - no matter how small.  I love teaching about topics they may not have really even thought about like, where do apples come from, why we celebrate different holidays, space, being earth friendly, Dr. Seuss... too many topics to list here.  I love seeing how their minds absorb so many facts and how much fun we can have learning them.

My husband, Mike, and I are both from Danville, IL and have been married for 26 years.  We have lived in Mahomet for the last 19 years and have raised our family here.  Our daughter, Hannah, is married and living in upper New York state. Our two sons are Jared and Andy, attend Parkland and are still around the house. This is the first year I wont have a child in the Mahomet-Seymour School District. It feels... weird. We have a crazy, wackadoo Chihuahua, Frank (short for Frankenstein - he's a little monster), who keeps us endlessly entertained. It can be a little nutty in my house, but we wouldn't have it any other way!

In my quiet time, I LOVE to read! I also enjoy shopping with my daughter, my little garden in my back yard and running around with my best friend - my hubby.  But above all, I love spending time with my family.  As they grow, our time becomes more precious, but we have a wonderful time together when we are all in the same place for more than 5 minutes. wink

I have the great joy of working in the classroom with two amazing ladies!  Debbie Koller does the "role switching" thing - she assists in the AM and PM PreK classes.  Liza Raquel also assists in the AM class. They are wonderful, loving and just a whole lot of fun!

The easiest way to reach me is via text message (217-480-6611) or email (agcprekteacher@gmail.com), as I check both throughout the day.  I can also be reached at the preschool before and after class.  I try to return phone calls after class time.  You can always leave messages at the preschool number, 586-6147, as I am at the preschool 5 days a week.
