EC and ESL Program Overview

EC and ESL Vision 

The EC Program exists to ensure that all children with a disability are provided with a free and appropriate education that meets their unique needs through specially designed instruction and related services in order for them to access the general education curriculum and prepare them for further education, employment and independent living.

The ESL Program exists to ensure that all children identified as Limited English Proficient are instructed using WIDA’s English Language Development Standards for their advancement of academic language and academic achievement.

Child Find (EC):

According to IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Act), each local education agency must develop policies and procedures that ensures all children with disabilities, ages three through 21, including children who are homeless or are wards of the state, children who are parentally placed in a private school, regardless of the severity of their disability, and who are in need of special education and related services, are identified, located, and evaluated.
