Biblical Literature

Welcome to Mrs. Johnson's Biblical Literature Page!

This class was a first semester elective class for the 2010-11 school year, and it is now completed.

The Clarksville Academy elective Biblical Literature is not a theology class.  The main purpose of this class is to give students a working knowledge and understanding of the major characters and events of the Bible to which many allusions are made in much of Western Literature.  Students will be taught a brief history of the Bible, but the focus will be on learning about key characters and events found in both the Old and New Testaments, while also studying the style in which the various books of the Bible were written.  The Authorized King James Version will be discussed and used frequently.  However, a variety of different versions and translations of the Bible will be used in class,  in addition to other religious writings, in order to give a more well-rounded view.

Tolerance and respect for all beliefs will not only be encouraged; it is a requirement for the class.
