Science 6-1 with Mr Alexander

Welcome!

I'm glad that you've found our class web page. Here you'll find postings of resources and assignment materials to help you be successful in our class. You'll also find links to fun science and math sites (Yes, we scientists use a lot of math.).

Interesting Science Sites

Element Builder -- Build the elements by combining protons, neutrons and electrons.

Summer and Winter -- Experiment with how the tilted orientation of the Earth to the Sun affects our seasons.

Seasons in 3D --  Observe how the movements of the Earth orbiting the Sun affect the seasons.

Sea Breezes -- Why coastal areas stay cooler in summer.

Helpful Math Sites

Wolfram Mathworld -- Great site for definitions, formulas and all things mathematical

Forms and Rubrics

I've included some handy forms and rubrics here in case you need them and didn't think to bring your science folder with you.

Standard Lab Report -- This lab report can be printed and filled out by hand or completed on the computer then printed or emailed.

Lab Report Rubric -- This rubric details the requirements for regular lab reports in our class and the guidelines for grading them.

Writing Hypotheses -- This discusses how to form a good hypothesis. This will be useful in completing your lab reports and designing projects for class.
